The album cover artwork for Iron Maiden’s 10th studio album “X Factor”. I was approached by the band and then manager Merk Mercuriadis to render their time-honored mascot, Eddie, less as an illustration … but more as a photo-realistic portrayal. This is where sculpture and model making came into play. Creating Eddie, his torture table and the electric chair and backdrop for the album’s back cover was the challenge — and the fun. Finishing up the project’s digital post in London, it was great to hang (and drink Director’s Bitters) in the evenings with the lads during that memorable 2 week period!

This giclée was produced by Eastern Engineering Fine Art Division on a Canon PROGRAF PRO-6000 60-inch printer for Professional Photo and Fine Art printing.

It prints with 13 LUCIA PRO archival pigment inks and a Chroma Optimizer. The inks are created to last 90+ years under normal display conditions (not in direct sunlight). The paper is Premium Archival Matte Paper, museum grade and acid-free for high-quality fine art reproductions.

All prints are signed by Hugh Syme and will include a certificate of authenticity.
